General - Velindre NHS Trust  
In order to ensure our high level of care and expertise is maintained and enhanced we are looking to recruit well motivated, professional staff who are willing to commit their time and energy to take the Trust forward. The Cancer Centre is based at Velindre Hospital in Cardiff and provides specialist cancer services to 1.5 million people living in South East Wales. Although Velindre Hospital is the main focus for services, there are also a large number of peripheral out-patients clinics held at other hospitals throughout South East Wales, as well as out-based chemotherapy services. During 2000/2001 the hospital saw almost 5,000 new patients and was looking after the treatment or follow-up of nearly 12,000 patients. Velindre Hospital is based on the outskirts of Cardiff, just 5 minutes from the M4 within easy reach of excellent rail and bus links. Cardiff itself is one of the fastest growing cities in Europe and provides a wide variety of cultural, sporting and leisure activities and venues including the magnificent Millenium Stadium, Cardiff Bay Development and the National Museum and Art Gallery. Rapid progress in modern technology and clinical trials and changes in working practices ensures that the Trust is proactive in maintaining a modern forward thinking environment whilst retaining a friendly atmosphere.
